When I started working in marketing, I came in with the most general and common questions: who are the target personas? what is the customer journey? where is this audience? what campaigns can I create in order to attract this target audience? Though after being in marketing for a couple of years, growing my circles with so many marketing folks- I have come to realize that there are 2 parts of marketing that nobody talks about, teaches, but everyone has to keep in mind. Many products quickly fail because they lack these two big elements: awareness and accessibility. We need to start also asking ourselves “is this campaign accessible”, “is this campaign tone deaf?”, …
With little to no connections to being a marketer at many startups, how I did it and what I’ve learned so far.
Before I start I want to put a disclaimer: I am not there yet. I am still building myself but something that I realized is that there are SO MANY of us that are struggling to find a path into this advanced tech world. Therefore I am writing what has worked for me, some people may disagree and I am by no means an expert.
TL;DR: TikTok has created a creative platform that doesn’t just bring a platform for creatives, but it created a platform where everyone can be a creative. Byte is focused on building community and transparency along with interactive features. Instagram Reels is a glorified Instagram Story.
On August 5, Instagram launched Instagram Reels which is another competitor in this race to capture the attention of creators and their fan base. As of July 2020, TikTok had 800 million active users across the globe. This app grew with the Zoomer generation and younger millennials holding 41% of their users between the ages of 16 and 24. First daughter, first child in the family to grow up in the United States, and this was probably the first sign of me wanting to be the typical American.
Growing up my parents made a rule that when I was at home I would have to speak hindi, I would eat indian food and watch indian movies. This was to make sure I had an Indian structure before I stepped out of the house everyday. Though, whenever I walked out, I wanted to be like the other kids. …

It’s all in your head.
You’re too young to ACTUALLY have something wrong with you.
It’s because you’re fat, lose weight and you will be fine.
Every struggle needs support, unfortunately my struggle was one that nobody understood how to support. I have fibromyalgia- otherwise known as the “invisible disease”. Simply said, my body is extremely sensitive, if an able person gets pinched they will say “ouch!” and then within minutes the pain will go away, but for someone with fibromyalgia that pinch will be felt for days or weeks. …
On June 26, 2018, India was named the most dangerous place for women. How is it that the country known for its gorgeous array of colors, exceptional style, and spicy food houses the most hideous environment for women? The culture that people absorb peacefulness from through “namaste” and elephant tapestries harbors social traditions so abusive, it’s own women can’t be at peace, sometimes even in their own home.
Many are embarrassed to admit the sadness and disappointment in discovering that their baby is a girl. For some it’s because a girl can never be an equivalent to a boy, to others it’s because they are scared to bring another girl into this wretched world. If a couple misses the window to abort their daughter, they will raise her with disappointment, try again for a son, or give her up for adoption. According to New India Times, in 2011, a staggering 90% of 11 million abandoned kids were girls. …
